Yemeni Forces Launch Major Assault on US Warships Following Deadly American Strikes
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

DayofPal– The Yemeni Armed Forces have launched a large-scale military operation targeting the USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea.

The assault, which involved 18 ballistic and cruise missiles along with a barrage of drones, was carried out in direct retaliation for a wave of US airstrikes that pounded the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and seven other provinces.

According to Yemeni military sources, the United States conducted 47 air raids across multiple regions, leaving devastation in their wake. The Ministry of Health confirmed that the strikes claimed the lives of at least 31 people and wounded 101 others, the majority of whom were women and children.

Eyewitnesses in Sana’a described harrowing scenes as powerful explosions rocked the city, reducing residential buildings to rubble. Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky while emergency responders scrambled to assist survivors.

Houthi-affiliated media outlets reported extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, denouncing the attack as an indiscriminate assault.

In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces issued a defiant statement, declaring their unwavering commitment to confronting US military aggression. They warned that all American warships operating in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea would be considered legitimate targets.

“Our response will not cease,” the statement read. “The United States must bear full responsibility for its reckless actions, which will only serve to fortify Yemen’s resistance.”

Additionally, the Yemeni military reaffirmed its enforcement of a naval blockade against Israeli-linked vessels, vowing to maintain the siege until humanitarian aid is delivered to Gaza.

Since November 2023, the Houthis, officially known as Ansar Allah, have launched maritime attacks targeting Israeli-affiliated ships in response to Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

Washington has acknowledged the recent airstrikes, with US officials stating that military operations against Yemen could persist for weeks.

The Biden administration has justified the assaults as defensive measures aimed at neutralizing threats to international shipping and military assets in the region.

Ansar Allah’s political office, however, dismissed these claims, characterizing the American offensive as an act of war designed to serve Israeli interests.

Houthi leaders vowed continued military operations against Israeli-linked ships and condemned US involvement in the war.

This latest escalation underscores the growing volatility in the Red Sea and beyond, raising concerns of a wider regional conflagration. With both sides digging in, the prospect of de-escalation appears increasingly remote.
