DayofPal– The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported a staggering toll on Gaza’s children, confirming that at least 322 children have been killed and 609 others wounded in just ten days as Israel’s military offensive intensifies.
The latest wave of assaults follows the collapse of a ceasefire on March 18, reigniting relentless airstrikes and ground operations across the besieged enclave.
In a statement, UNICEF described the situation as catastrophic, noting that more than 100 children are being killed or maimed daily. Many of the victims had already been displaced, forced to seek shelter in makeshift tents or among the ruins of their homes.
Among the reported casualties are those who perished in an Israeli strike on the emergency ward of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, a city in southern Gaza that has borne the brunt of recent bombardments.
UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell underscored the devastating impact of the renewed attacks, saying “The ceasefire provided a fragile lifeline for Gaza’s children. Now, they have once again been plunged into an unrelenting cycle of death, injury, and unimaginable suffering.”
Israel launched its latest military escalation in Gaza on March 18, 2025, as part of a broader campaign that began on October 7, 2023. The humanitarian toll has been unprecedented. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the death toll has now surpassed 50,357, including 15,000 children.
With hospitals overwhelmed, entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble, and food and medical supplies dwindling, humanitarian agencies warn that the crisis has reached a point of no return.
The ongoing offensive has raised urgent calls for international intervention, as the world watches yet another generation of Gaza’s children are being murdered in a war they did not choose. Despite global appeals for restraint, the attacks continue unabated.
