DayofPal– The UN has warned of a sharp deterioration in humanitarian conditions in Gaza, highlighting shortages in livelihoods and limited shelter amid mounting Israeli attacks.
It mentioned that many families displaced from bombed schools returned to northern Gaza due to lack of alternatives, with five schools hit in the past 48 hours, causing casualties.
The UN reported that Israeli forces continue issuing evacuation orders followed by direct strikes, leaving less than 18% of Gaza accessible to residents.
UN spokesperson said recent army’s attacks displaced at least 1,500 families, warning that declining essential services are threatening civilians’ survival.
He called for urgent opening of all crossings to allow critical supplies into Gaza. Meanwhile, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned of possible closure of more vital facilities soon.
World Food Programme also cautioned that Gaza’s ability to fight hunger is rapidly diminishing amid the full closure and systematic attacks.
