DayofPal– The United Nations has sounded the alarm over the looming threat to the Palestinian presence in northern Gaza amid Israel’s relentless military actions, restrictions, and enforced displacement.
The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has issued a grave statement, denouncing Israel’s assaults in northern Gaza, describing it as “horrific” and expressing profound concern for the dire situation of displaced people and their potential eradication.
The statement highlighted the grave plight of civilians trapped in northern Gaza, where life has become “impossible” for countless people teetering on the edge of famine.
Ongoing forced displacements and stringent limitations on humanitarian aid have only deepened the crisis, leaving many in desperate circumstances.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces are not only targeting civilians but also looting their possessions and demolishing homes and schools that provide vital shelter.
Philippe Lazzarini, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), revealed that Israel has blocked crucial humanitarian aid from reaching northern Gaza.
This move is part of Israel’s strategy to occupy northern Gaza and forcibly displace its residents, justifying these actions as necessary to prevent Hamas from regaining power.
The relentless assaults in northern Gaza, supported by the United States, have resulted in more than 700 casualties in only 19 days of implementing general’s plan, bringing the total to more than 142,000 with thousands still unaccounted for.
In spite of widespread international outrage and UN Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire, Israel’s offensive in Gaza persists, inflicting devastating humanitarian consequences on the region.
The international community has called on Israel to halt its attacks and facilitate the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to ease the suffering of civilians in northern Gaza.
Yet, as the crisis deepens, the threat of eradicating the Palestinian presence in northern Gaza grows increasingly imminent.
