DayofPal-The US army has abducted the Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores in an audacious military attack that the world has never seen since world war two.
President Donald Trump hailed the overnight operation and vowed that the US is “going to run” Venezuela until there is an orderly transition of power.
However, the dramatic intervention was condemned by Democrats on Capitol Hill and several leaders around the world as the most dangerous example of US imperialism since the invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Previously, 63-year-old Maduro accused the US of seeking to take control of his nation’s oil reserves, the biggest in the world.
Trump, who campaigned for the presidency with a promise to end foreign wars, did nothing to quell those fears when he told reporters that the US would be temporarily seizing control of Venezuela and its oil
“We are going to run the country until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition,” Trump said.
Maduro’s Stance of Palestine
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has repeatedly voiced strong support for Palestine and condemnation of Israel’s war on Gaza in a series of public statements.
Maduro denounced what he described as the world’s silence in the face of an ongoing genocide against Palestinians.
“We raise our voices with determination and anger at the world’s silence in the face of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinians.”
He furhter described the nature of conflict between two unequal powers, describing Gaza war by saying that “It is not a conflict between equal parties, but a systematic plan to destroy a people and erase their identity.”
He affirmed that Palestine has the right to exist, resist, and live freely within a fully sovereign state, describing the Palestinian cause as a shared human struggle
“Palestine has the right to exist, to resist and to live freely within a fully sovereign state.”
He stood by the side of the victims in Gaza and hold the world responsible for Gaza tragedy:“The massacre against the people of Palestine is a massacre against all of us.”
“Every bomb dropped on a Palestinian hospital, school, or home … undermines the foundations of world peace.”
Maduro warned that attacks on Palestinian civilians, including hospitals, schools, and homes, undermine the foundations of global peace, and said that the massacre of Palestinians is a massacre against all humanity.
In a direct message aimed at the U.S. public, he added that “Humanity is already suffering enough from the genocide in Gaza … Do you want a new Gaza in South America?”
He reiterated Venezuela’s solidarity with Palestine, saying “We will not abandon this sacred cause until the goal is achieved: Palestine will rise, free and independent.”
