The Israeli occupation forces shot dead, on Wednesday Evening, August 18th, 2022, a boy and injured severely, three other civilians, including two boys, during the forces storming of Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus.

The Israeli occupation forces killed Waseem Nasr Khalifa, 18. Khalifa succumbed to the serious wounds he sustained from an Israeli bullet to the chest during confrontations in the vicinity of Youssef’s tomb in Nablus.

On another note, the director of ambulance and emergency at the Red Crescent in Nablus, Ahmed Jibril, said that three citizens, including two boys, were wounded by live bullets, two in the thigh and one in the foot, during the storming of the Balata refugee camp, and described their condition as stable.

Aside from the three Palestinian young men who were wounded by live bullets, another was injured by a direct gas canister in the head, and dozens of people suffocated with tear gas, during the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of east Nablus.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces stormed, in large numbers, Al-Quds and Amman Streets, the vicinity of Yusef Shrine, east of Nablus, and the Askar and Balata camps, amid firing bullets and tear gas and sound bombs leaving dozens of Palestinians suffocated.

sources added that the confrontations are still taking place until the preparation of the news on Amman Street.

Palestinian Resistance’s Take

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou: “Our people’s response to the (Israeli) occupation in Nablus confirms once again that the West Bank is not an open ground for its forces and settlers, and its cities and camps will remain the keeper of the Palestinian revolution.

Islamic Jihad spokesman in the West Bank, Tariq Izz Al-Din said,” We salute the fighting forearms in the field of honor, Nablus, Jabal Al-Nar, and the resistance will remain the title of the stage.”

Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, “As we mourn with pride and honor the proud martyrs of Nablus and ask God Almighty for a speedy recovery for the wounded heroes, we affirm that the blood of the martyrs only further charts the path of liberation and illuminates the path of the mujahideen to the holy city and all of Palestine.”

“This heroic act of resistance by the men of Nablus, revolution and defiance, proves that there are men in the West Bank who keep the will of the martyrs and maintain the correct path of the escalating revolutionary situation in the West Bank,” they added.
