DaysofPal- Dozens of Palestinians, German activists, and international supporters gathered in Berlin on Wednesday to protest a recently approved Israeli law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners, urging immediate international intervention.
The demonstration, organized by the Palestinian National Unified Committee and joined by German anti-imperialist and anti-Zionist groups, drew participants who described the legislation as a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international law, including the Geneva Conventions that guarantee protections for detainees.
In a statement delivered during the protest, the Palestinian committee said the law provides official cover for the killing of prisoners and risks turning detention facilities into “execution grounds,” while transforming the judiciary into a tool of political retaliation.
Organizers called on European governments, human rights organizations, and international courts to break their silence and fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities to prevent the implementation of the law, which is expected to come into force within 30 days.
Representatives of participating German groups voiced strong opposition, saying the measure contradicts fundamental human values and European human rights standards, and could further institutionalize violence against Palestinians living under occupation.
Protesters carried banners condemning collective punishment policies and chanted slogans demanding justice and freedom for prisoners.
They also pledged to continue demonstrations across European cities, emphasizing that international solidarity would remain a key source of support for Palestinian detainees.
