Hamas rejects US-UNRWA Framework agreement

Hamas Movement on Thursday declared its absolute rejection of the US-UNRWA Framework Cooperation agreement to resume Washington’s financing of the UN agency.

Hamas said, in a press release, that it rejects any measure against UNRWA employees or those benefitting from its services.

The Movement said that despite the so-called financial crisis of UNRWA and the importance of solving it, yet, “We do not accept any attempt to deviate the agency from its path and endanger the (Palestinian) refugees’ issue”.

The Framework Cooperation Agreement, signed in mid-July 20221, imposes serious and humiliating conditions that the US imposes on the agency in return for resuming its financial assistance, Hamas warned.

The Movement charged the US with attempting to liquidate UNRWA in service of the Israeli scheme of ending the Palestinian refugees’ issue.
