Hamas Movement issued a statement condemning recent comments made by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in which he accused the movement of obstructing reaching an agreement with ‘Israel’.
In a press release, Hamas rejected what it called “false accusations” made by the US that it “moved the goal post” and changed its demands in the ceasefire negotiations.
Hamas said that Blinken’s statements are disconnected from reality, and they contradict the truth that confirms Hamas has shown flexibility more than once to facilitate reaching an agreement to stop the genocidal war and aggression against Gaza people.
Hamas flexibility collided with the obstinacy and procrastination of Netanyahu and his government, who put obstacles in the way of the agreement and seek to prolong their ferocious war against Gaza people, the statement reads, stressing that the issue of the Israeli prisoners is not among Israel’s priorities.
The statement continues: The demands of Hamas and the resistance factions have been clear since day one, and they are the same demands presented during last March, which were welcomed by all parties and the mediators themselves. The demands are: a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza enclave, the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes in all areas of the Gaza enclave, a flowing relief efforts in addition to starting reconstruction.
The statement concludes that America plays a full role as a partner in the genocidal war against Gaza people by continuing to support ‘Israel’ with weapons, ammunition, and political cover, and it extends its hostile role against Gaza people through false accusations and incitement against Hamas.
