Two injured, one of them a child, seriously injured by the occupation bullets, and they were arrested in Jiftlik
This morning, Monday morning, a child and his uncle from the Al-Atawna family were shot by the occupation forces, before they were arrested in the village of Al-Jiftlik, north of Jericho.
Ahmed Gwanmeh, head of the Jiftlik local council, said that an Israeli force raided a house in the town, and shot a 16-year-old boy and his uncle.
Ghawanmeh added that the child was seriously wounded by the occupation's bullets in the Al-Khasra area, where he was transferred by helicopter to the occupation army, while his uncle was moderately wounded.
Local sources reported that the detainees are Hamada Abdel Aziz Atawneh and Aziz Muhammad Abdel Aziz Atawneh.
The occupation forces also raided several homes of citizens in Jiftlik, amid sabotage and terror attacks on families.
Al Jiftlik is a Palestinian village located to the north of the city of Jericho, about 30 km away from it. Its land area is 1,242 dunums, and the main street cuts through its middle, dividing it in two halves, east and west, and its economy depends on the agricultural sector.
Al-Jaftlik is one of the threatened Palestinian villages and areas if the occupation authorities implement their threats to annex the Jordan Valley and settlements.
Since its occupation of the West Bank, the occupation authorities have sought to annex and Judaize the Palestinian Valley, which is located on a reservoir of water.
Several areas in the West Bank, especially in the Jordan Valley and villages adjacent to settlements, are under continuous attack with the aim of confiscating more lands, building a settlement road and displacing residents.
Israel has severely restricted Palestinian access to water in the area, particularly the 23 underground wells used for agriculture and has seized large tracts of land from the village for the construction of seven nearby illegal settlements, military bases, and settler-only bypass roads, pushing the villagers into a crowded enclave, a ghetto, surrounded by walls, settlements and military installations.
