Fierce clashes between armed Palestinian groups and Israeli occupation forces have intensified in southern Gaza, leading to a significant rise in civilian casualties in a conflict that has persisted for nine months.
The Gaza Government Media Office released an update detailing the severe impact of the latest 48 hours of fighting. According to their statement, 129 people have been killed and 416 injured, with more than 100 of the injured still unable to reach hospitals. The chaos has also left 44 people missing.
The new wave of violence began after the Israeli occupation ordered residents to evacuate and launched a fresh offensive, resulting in the evacuation of 82 families and the bombing of 237 houses and residential buildings.
The Gaza Government Media Office condemned the Israeli military’s actions, stating, “The [Israeli] occupation army targets everything that moves on Salah al-Din Street in Khan Younis,” and said that the occupation army of obstructing rescue efforts for the wounded who have been appealing for help.
