DayofPal– The Israeli army has launched a ground military operation in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, accompanied by a barrage of air strikes, on Sunday, ahead of the first anniversary of Al-Aqsa Flood Operation.
As the sounds of violent fire belts and air raids resonate in the middle of a previous night, many Palestinians find themselves flee with no destination once more, responding to a fresh evacuation threats issued by the military early this morning.
Israeli tanks had reportedly advanced into the northern Gaza areas of Beit Lahiya and Jabalia overnight and warplanes started to bomb several houses, killing and wounding many Palestinians.
In a statement issued today, the Israeli military said “The troops of the 401st Brigade and the 460th Brigade have successfully encircled the area and are currently continuing to operate in the area.”
Jabalia residents have described it as one of the worst nights in months with 10 people were killed in one house and five others in another house in only one Israeli airstrike.
Civil Defense said early today that at least 30 Palestinians were massacred in Israeli relentless airstrikes on northern Gaza, and other 30 were killed across areas in the enclave.
Palestinian and UN officials said no place in the enclave is safe including the “humanitarian zones” where Israeli missiles have hit numerous times.
Palestinian Journalist Imad Zaqout wrote on X: “The Israeli army ordered us to evacuate the north, threatening us with death and deceiving us that there is food and comfort in the south.”
“We have endured hunger for a whole year and death for years in a land of pain. Al-Mawasi is not a paradise, and death does not differentiate between north and south; killing happens here and there, and the cold is coming everywhere, along with hunger that accompanies people everywhere. If we are to die, we will die in our north, and we won’t follow the illusions and lies of the occupation,” he concluded.
