palestinian prisoner enters new year
S.K | DOP -

The Palestinian prisoner Muhannad Shreim (47) from Tulkarm, entered Monday, May 8, 2023, his 22nd year inside the Israeli occupation prisons.

It’s noteworthy that prisoner Shreim has spent four years before he was detained in 2002 in the Israeli occupation prisons, and went under harsh and long investigation, that the Israeli occupation sentenced him to 29 life imprisonment.

During the years of his detention, the Palestinian prisoner Shreim lost his father, and the Israeli occupation prevented him bidding the last farewell to his parents, in addition to facing repeated denial of family visits.

Israeli occupation is currently holding more than 1,000 Palestinian detainees without charge or trial, the highest number since 2003, according to the Israeli human rights group HaMoked.

Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4900 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 31 women.

In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.
