Hundreds of people gathered in Jenin on Sunday to pay tribute to the late Shireen Abu Akleh in a memorial mass, one year after her death at the hands of Israeli occupation forces.

Abu Akleh, a Palestinian journalist and Aljazeera correspondent, was killed by Israeli fire in May last year while reporting in the West Bank city of Jenin.

The memorial mass was attended by family members, friends, and colleagues of Abu Akleh, who gathered to honor her life and legacy.

The memorial mass was a reminder of the dangers faced by Palestinian journalists, who often report in difficult and dangerous conditions.

Abu Akleh’s death highlighted the risks faced by journalists under the Israeli occupation, and many of those gathered to pay tribute to her called for international action to ensure the safety of journalists.
