Palestinian People Condemn Aqaba Summit that will be held on Sunday, 26 February 2023, and deem it cover for Israeli occupation ongoing crimes against Palestinian people in the occupied Palestinian lands.
The meeting to be held in the Red Sea resort of Aqaba will also be attended by United States and Egyptian representatives.
The talks will come after 11 Palestinians were killed and more than 80 wounded on Wednesday when Israeli occupation troops raided the city of Nablus in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967.
Since the start of 2023, the Israeli occupation has claimed the lives of 62 Palestinians including 13 children and 4 elderly people.
Wednesday’s raid, the latest in a string of deadly military raids by Israeli military troops in the occupied West Bank, came with Israel headed by a new coalition government regarded as the most right-wing in Israel’s history.
Palestinian National Factions including Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Palestinian People’s Party, and the Democratic Front expressed their categorical rejection of Jordan’s decision to hold the Aqaba meeting in which the United States, Egypt, and Israeli occupation will participate.
The summit provides a cover for the continuation of the Israeli occupation’s crimes in the occupied West Bank, the expansion and legitimization of settlements, and the demolition of Palestinian homes, factions added.
The Palestinian Factions affirmed that the Israeli massacre committed in the city of Nablus last Wednesday coincides with continuous Israeli attacks throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, completely contradicting the dishonest call made by the American administration.
The Palestinian national factions called on the Palestinian Authority to withdraw from the summit and stop the security coordination with the Israeli occupation, stressing that PA participation encourages the Israeli troops to commit more massacres and escalations against Palestinians without any deterrence or reckoning.
