A Palestinian civilian was killed, and several others were injured on Sunday after an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of civilians in central Gaza, as Israel continues its relentless violations of the ceasefire for the 113th consecutive day.
Palestinian media sources reported that an Israeli surveillance drone deliberately struck civilians in the vicinity of Wadi Gaza, in the heart of the besieged Strip. The martyr was identified as Ayman Awad Abdulrahman Zaqout, 48 years old, who was killed instantly in the attack.
The assault was part of a wider escalation. At dawn, Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire toward the eastern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, terrorising residents already exhausted by months of displacement and loss. In a separate incident, Israeli forces detonated a booby-trapped robot northeast of Gaza City, spreading fear among nearby neighbourhoods.
This latest crime follows another bloody day on Saturday, when more than 30 Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza. According to Gaza’s Civil Defence, the majority of the victims were women and children, once again bearing the brunt of Israel’s ongoing aggression.
The Ministry of Interior in Gaza also announced that five police officers were killed and 15 others were injured after Israeli forces bombed the Sheikh Radwan police station in Gaza City — a clear attack on civil institutions and public order in a population already pushed to the edge of survival.
As it has done repeatedly, the Israeli military attempted to justify its crimes by claiming its attacks were a response to alleged ceasefire violations, asserting that armed fighters emerged from tunnels in Rafah.
These claims were firmly rejected by Hamas, which stated that Israel’s narrative is entirely fabricated and serves only as a pretext for continuing massacres against the Palestinian people. The movement stressed that Israel’s actions represent blatant contempt for mediators, guarantor states, and all parties involved in the so-called “peace process.”
Despite the ceasefire announced on 11 October 2025, Gaza remains under constant fire. Israeli aggression has not stopped — it has merely changed form. For Palestinians, the ceasefire exists only on paper, while death, fear, and destruction continue to define daily life.
