Palestinian female prisoner Nourhan Awad entered on Wednesday, November 23, her 8th year in a row in Israeli prisons.
Nourhan Awad, 22, was only 14 when she was injured and detained by Israeli troops in Qalandia Refugee camp, northern occupied Jerusalem.
On November 23, 2015, Israeli occupation forces opened fire on Awad and her cousin Hadeel. Hadeel, 16, was pronounced dead immediately.
Meanwhile, Nourhan Awad sustained injuries from several Israeli bullets in her left thigh, stomach, and left hand. She was detained upon her injury.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) stated that the Israeli occupation court sentenced Awad to 13 years in prison, reduced later to 10.
Israel holds currently 4760 Palestinian prisoners in its prisons, including 34 women and 160 children. 820 of the prisoners are held under administrative detention.
