Israeli Army and Settler Attacks Injure 36 in Occupied West Bank

DaysofPal- Israeli settler attacks across the occupied West Bank are escalating at an unprecedented pace under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, creating a daily reality of assaults on people and property, home invasions, livestock theft, and the forced displacement of entire communities, particularly in Masafer Yatta, the Jordan Valley, and the southern Hebron hills.

As the violence intensifies, human rights organizations and international bodies have renewed warnings that Israeli policies are contributing to the depopulation of large areas of their Palestinian residents, while calls for accountability over the violations continue to grow.

Masafer Yatta has become one of the most heavily targeted areas in the West Bank, where repeated settler attacks have included assaults on residents, raids on homes, destruction of property, livestock theft, and efforts to force Palestinian families to leave their communities. Observers say the events go far beyond isolated clashes between settlers and Palestinians, reflecting an organized pattern of violence aimed at imposing new realities on the ground through intimidation and displacement.

Amid the escalating rhetoric, Israeli settler Elisha Yered published a post on the social media platform X calling for attacks on Palestinians and their expulsion from the West Bank. He urged followers to read the weekly Torah portion from Chapter 33, which he said supports displacement, as part of a growing public discourse advocating the removal of Palestinians from their land.

UN Warns of Rising Displacement

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said settler violence, combined with Israeli military measures, has contributed to an increase in the forced displacement of Palestinians across the West Bank.

According to OCHA, the ongoing military operations in West Bank refugee camps, tighter movement restrictions, demolitions, settlement expansion, and settler attacks have displaced increasing numbers of Palestinians while heightening protection risks and reducing access to housing, livelihoods, and essential services.

The UN office reported that demolitions carried out since the beginning of July have displaced 67 Palestinians and destroyed 24 structures, including two funded by international donors to support vulnerable Palestinian communities.

Since the start of 2026, OCHA said settler attacks and demolitions have displaced more than 3,200 Palestinians, an average of 17 people every day, double the average recorded over the previous three years.

The agency renewed its call for respect for international humanitarian law and for the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

New Attacks Reported Across the West Bank

Several areas of the West Bank witnessed new settler attacks on Friday, leaving a number of Palestinians injured.

In the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, two Palestinians were beaten after settlers attacked residents and farmers. Israeli forces later entered the town, fired live ammunition and tear gas, and closed the Beit Furik checkpoint to vehicle traffic.

In Khirbet Asfi, in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron, nine Palestinians, including four women, were injured when settlers attempted to steal sheep belonging to the Awad family. Israeli forces subsequently entered the area, detained 15-year-old Mohammed Ismail Awad, and, according to local reports, intervened to protect the settlers while dispersing Palestinian residents.

Another settler attack in the Hawara area of Masafer Yatta left several Palestinians, including women and children, injured while Israeli forces detained a number of residents.

The Al-Baidar human rights organization also reported that settlers attacked a Bedouin community, injuring several people, including women and children. The organization said the assaults against Bedouin communities, their residents, and their property have continued unabated.

Hamas Welcomes Amnesty International Report

The Palestinian movement Hamas welcomed a recent report by Amnesty International documenting ethnic cleansing committed by Israeli authorities against Palestinians in the West Bank.

Hamas said settler violence is not the result of isolated acts by individuals but forms part of a systematic campaign led and officially supported by the Israeli government. The movement argued that the international community’s failure to halt the violations has provided Israel with impunity to continue its actions.

It called for legal proceedings against Israeli leaders before the International Criminal Court, the imposition of sanctions, and the severing of diplomatic relations with Israel.

Official Figures Reflect Rising Violence

Official statistics underscore the scale of the escalation across the West Bank. According to the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, approximately 11,074 attacks by Israeli forces and settlers were recorded during the first half of 2026.

The commission said settlers carried out 3,488 attacks since the beginning of the year, resulting in the deaths of 17 Palestinians. The violence also led to the complete displacement of 18 Bedouin communities and the partial displacement of eight others.

In addition, settlers established 42 new settlement outposts, most of them pastoral in nature, including four built on land classified as Area B under the Oslo Accords.

With daily attacks continuing, settlements expanding, and demolitions and displacement on the rise, Palestinians and human rights organizations warn that the West Bank is witnessing a systematic policy aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence, while effective international measures to protect civilians and halt the ongoing violations remain absent.
