Wa’ed Association for Palestinian Detainees reported that 120 Palestinian detainees in the Naqab prison are continuing their hunger strike today, Tuesday, for the second day, after the occupation refused to lift its brutal sanctions against them.
It indicated that the Palestinian female prisoners in Damon Prison have been subjected to a brutal attack by the Israeli forces of repression since the morning, and there are no clear details about what is happening.
The Palestinian Prisoners Information Office confirmed the Palestinian detainees will close sections in all prisons this afternoon, in protest against the procedures against male and female detainees of the Negev, Ofer and Megiddo.
The office announced that the Palestinian female detainees are burning the rooms in the Damon prison while the Israeli forces are spraying tear gas and pepper gas on them.
The Israeli occupation forces assaulted a number of them.
Hazem Qassem, a spokesman to Hamas, said in a special statement to Days of Palestine, “There has been a major escalation against the prisoners in recent days, and the most dangerous thing that happened today was the barbaric attack on the female detainees in the occupation prisons.”
“This escalation again violates all international standards and conventions, and flouts international humanitarian law,” he added.
Accordingly, Hazem Hassanein, a spokesman for the Prisoners Information Office, said that “the occupation’s violations against female detainees in Damon Prison is a dangerous crossing of all red lines.”
He added, “The occupation’s practices against female detainees portend a real explosion inside the prisons.”
Hassanein also stressed that “all options are open to respond to the blatant and barbaric assault on female detainees by the prison administration,” adding, “the conditions of female detainees in Damon Prison require a serious stand by everyone.”
The Israeli occupation is escalating its violations against the Palestininan detainees , in conjunction with Itamar Ben Gvir’s extremist statements.
The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, passed an order preventing the families of “Hamas” prisoners from visiting them in prison, which caused a state of tension in the Naqab prison, amid arbitrary measures against the detainees.
The occupation prison administration also withdrew electrical tools from Sections 26 and 27 in the Naqab prison.
A few days ago, the Israeli occupation forces stormed 3 prisons, Megiddo, Ofer and Naqab, in conjunction with the raids, witnessed the arbitrary transfer and solitary confinement of a number of detainees.
Wa’ed Association for Prisoners indicated that there is information about summoning additional repression units to prisons.
