Palestinian Detainees Continue Collective Disobedience for 5th Day

Palestinian Detainees Continue Civil Disobedience in Israeli Jails For 9th Day in Row
M.S | DOP -

Palestinian detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons continued Saturday, February 18, their collective disobedience against the prison administration, for the fifth consecutive day, in response to the occupation’s announcement to start implementing punitive and racist measures recommended by the extremist Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.

The Supreme Emergency Committee of the Palestinian Captive Movement decided yesterday that the Palestinian detainees sit in the prison yards in light of the dangerous developments and the announcement of the prison administration to expand its circle of threats and attacks on the detainees in “Jilboa” prison.

The occupation prisons administration had informed the detainees of imposing collective punishments against them, starting last Thursday in a number of prisons, in response to the “disobedience” steps they took in rejection of the racist measures ordered by the extremist Ben Gvir to be implemented.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Prisoners Club confirmed that the collective disobedience will continue until the date set for the hunger strike scheduled for the first of next Ramadan, and these steps will depend on the position of the occupation prison administration, and the developments that may occur during the coming period.

The number of Palestinian detainees in the occupation prisons is about 4,780, including 160 children, 29 women, and 914 administrative detainees.
