The Israeli occupation army on Saturday set up a gate and a communication tower at the entrance to Jabel al-Fureidis (mount), east of Bethlehem.
Local official Hasan Bureijiya said that the military gate at the entrance to the mount would prevent local residents from reaching their lands.

Recently, the Israeli occupation authority has escalated its attacks on the impoverished areas of al-Fureidis and Jab ad-Deeb, where the local population suffers from Israeli demolition campaigns and harsh living conditions as a result of the absence of any basic services and infrastructure.
The local residents and their property have also been exposed for long years to acts of violence by Jewish settlers.
