Hamas held the Israeli zionist occupation responsible for executing the late Abdo Yousef Al-Khatib Al-Tamimi from Jerusalem, who was martyred in Al-Maskobiya prison after being severely beaten by the occupation police.
Hamas spokesman, Muhammad Hamadeh, said in a press statement that the martyrdom of Abdo al-Khatib (who was not suffering from any pre-existing diseases in refutation of the scandalous occupation story that the young man died as a result of a heart attack).
He added that the executing of the Al-Tamimi demonstrates the procedure of the brutal occupation that targets everything holy, and not least of which is the killing of the prisoner at the same time as his confined in a cell.
“The criminality of the occupation extends to abuse in all aspects of life to empty Jerusalem of its people, and how for them to do so,” he stressed.
He called on Palestinian people not to pass this crime on, declare anger in the face of the occupation, go out to the streets, and participate in the martyr’s funeral as a declaration of solidarity and deliver the resounding message to the occupier that all occupation attempts will not move the people of Jerusalem.
On Wednesday evening, Abdo Yousef Al-Khatib Al-Tamimi, 43, was martyred inside the investigation and detention center known as “Al-Maskobiya” in occupied Jerusalem.
Hassan Abed Rabbo, the media advisor to the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, said that the young Tamimi from Shuafat camp was martyred. At the same time, he was being held in the Moskoubiya detention center in Jerusalem.
He added that the Israeli occupation forces had arrested Al-Tamimi last Sunday for a traffic violation.
Abed Rabbo held the Israeli occupation and the administration of its prisons fully responsible for the death of the detainee Tamimi.
For its part, Al-Tamimi’s family reported that their son was beaten and electrocuted by the Israeli occupation police, who informed them that their son Abdo had died after suffering a heart attack inside his cell in “Al-Maskobiya.”
They indicated that the martyr is a father of four children, and he did not suffer from any diseases.
Around 222 Palestinian detainees are estimated to have died in Israeli prisons since 1967, five of them passed away this year.
Over 5,500 Palestinians are currently languishing in prisons located throughout Israel, according to Palestinian official figures.
