Israeli settlers today assaulted Sebastia Mayor Muhammad Azim, when he intervened to prevent the settlers from abducting a child.

Azim said that dozens of settlers, with military reinforcements, stormed the archaeological site in Sebastia, north of Nablus, and tried to kidnap a child.

He added that while confronting settlers' attempts to kidnap the child, he was beaten, under the protection of the occupation forces.
