The spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Abd al-Latif al-Qanoo ', confirmed that his movement’s options regarding participating in the upcoming legislative elections are still open, and that it prefers to participate in a joint national list that brings together all the Palestinian sects.
Al-Qanou 'added in a statement to Felesteen newspaper: that the list with all the patriots will face the challenges that plague the just Palestinian cause, "because we believe that the elections are an entrance to strengthening the political partnership, saving our Palestinian national project, and the option to achieve this is the national list."
He explained that Hamas continuous to consultate with the Palestinian factions, whether in the last two days' Cairo meeting, or in the Gaza Strip, to determine the form of participation on the basis that the aim of the elections is political partnership with Fatah and the national whole.
Regarding the final statement of the factions in the Cairo meetings, Al-Qanoua described the meetings as "positive", adding that they witnessed progress with practical steps over the past two days, in which the spirit of responsibility prevailed.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that the meetings also witnessed progress in practical steps regarding judicial and legal matters, and "the electoral process has been fortified."
He warned that "Hamas" will decide the form of its participation in the next two days, whether through a joint or separate list.
