Minister of Health Mai Alkaila announced today that 2,193 new coronavirus infections, 29 deaths, and 2,080 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the past 24 hours.
She announced that 2,193 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and 29 others died of it in the occupied territories.
Among the new 2,193 cases, 1,916 cases were recorded in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and 277 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In her daily report on the coronavirus pandemic, Alkaila said 25 deaths were registered in the West Bank and four in the Gaza Strip.
She announced that the new cases were recorded as follows: “Qalqilya 106, Tulkarm 194, Nablus 359, Hebron 390, Salfit 70, the suburbs of Jerusalem 79, Jenin 191, Ramallah and Al-Bireh 330, Bethlehem 137, Tubas 40, Jericho and Al-Aghwar 20, The Gaza Strip 277."
She added that 2,080 Covid-19 patients recovered; 1,875 recovery cases in the West Bank, including Jerusalem district, and 205 others in the Gaza Strip.
Recoveries account for 89.3 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 9.6 percent, and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.
The Health Minister said 187 coronavirus patients remain in intensive care, including 56 who are on ventilators.
