Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
The Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian citizen in occupied Jerusalem, today, Monday, to demolish his home south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces stormed the al-Salaymeh house, and informed him that the municipality's crews would storm the place and carry out the demolition, which forced him to self-demolish, to avoid paying heavy fines.
The sources stated that Al-Salaymeh suffers from cancer and has been living in his home since 2019, accompanied by 5 individuals, including 3 children, the eldest of whom is 7 years old and the youngest one and a half years.
In a related context, the occupation authorities forced Jerusalemite citizens to demolish their commercial establishments located in the industrial zone north of occupied Jerusalem, in order to avoid paying the exorbitant demolition costs if the occupation demolishes them.
Adham Tabish Abu Sneinah, one of those affected, said that the occupation authorities forced him and his neighbor from the Al-Rajabi family to demolish their commercial facilities, claiming that they were building without a permit.
The Israeli occupation authorities initiated from the first moments of its occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, to follow a systematic racist policy of aggression towards the Palestinian Jerusalemites.
Israel aims to tighten control over the city of Jerusalem and Judaize it, and tighten the noose on its original inhabitants; This is through a series of arbitrary decisions and procedures that affect all aspects of the daily life of Jerusalemites.
Among these measures, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished Palestinian homes and installations after placing many obstacles in the way of issuing building permits for the benefit of Jerusalemites.
