Israel arrests 12 Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation forces launched, at dawn today, Tuesday, a campaign of arrests in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, affecting 12 citizens, including a leader in the "Hamas" movement and ex-prisoners.

The Israeli occupation soldiers had arrested a number of Palestinians in the West Bank, who had been transferred to the security services for investigation under the pretext of participating in popular resistance actions against the occupation forces and settlers.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces arrested the leader of the "Hamas" movement, Sheikh Fazaa Sawafta, and Shafiq Al-Kharraz, after storming their homes in the city of Tubas (the northern occupied West Bank), searching them and tampering with its contents, in addition to arrest the young Hassan Amer from the village of "Tayaseer" to the east, after their homes were raided and searched.

Dozens of Palestinian civilians were suffocated, as the Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas bombs at their homes in the town of "Al-Yamoun", west of Jenin.

According to local sources in the town, large forces of the occupation army stormed "Al-Yamoun" and searched many homes of ex-prisoners, and questioned their owners.

It added that the Israeli occupation forces arrested Issam Abu Hassan, Sanad Sufyan Khamaysa, and Muhammad Farah Smoudi after raiding their homes in the town.

In Hebron (to the south), the Israeli occupation forces arrested the young man, Abu Yusef Abu Maria (17 years), from the town of "Beit Ummar" north of Hebron, after they raided a number of citizens' homes.

In Bethlehem (to the south), the Israeli occupation forces re-arrested the ex-prisoner, Moath Soman from the "Al-Saff Street" area, and the two young men Ahmed Saeed Atallah and Salah Atallah from the village of "Harmala", east of Bethlehem.

In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation forces arrested a young man, Muhammad Salah al-Din, from the town of "Hizma", north of Jerusalem, while the young man, Mamoun Farhan, from the "Shuafat" refugee camp, was arrested.
