Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
The Israeli occupation mechanisms continued today, Sunday, excavation works in Al-Buraq Square(the western wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque), and near Al-Mughrabi Gate, as a part of the project to complete the Judaization of Al-Buraq Square and the southwest of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The residents of the neighborhood noticed strong vibrations suggesting that large excavations were happening in the place by the Israeli occupation forces, as a bulldozer, a large excavator and huge machines were seen on the wooden bridge in Al-Buraq Square.
The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, expressed its concern with the ongoing excavation works in Al-Buraq Square, near the Mughrabi Gate, and the last of which was what happened today.
The department warned about what is going on in this region, because it is inconsistent with international humanitarian law, and with UNESCO decisions issued in this regard.
They also confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities are taking advantage of the current circumstances of the spread of the Corona pandemic, to continue imposing restrictions on the Old City and prevent the usual presence in the Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa.
