The Israeli occupation continues to send warnings of demolishing Palestinians' homes in occupied Jerusalem, allegedly building without a permit, as well as settlers' plans to seize Palestinians' homes through fraud.
The occupation focuses on historical places in the Holy City, specifically in the Old City, and homes near the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, by harassing its residents and imposing huge financial fines on them in preparation for their displacement from their homes.
House demolitions has rised in Jerusalem, after the US administration's decision, in December 2017, according to which it recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the occupation entity.
The last warning reached to a member of the Defense Committee for Silwan Fakhri Abu Dhiab, as the occupation warned him to demolish his house in Wadi Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan town, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Amjad Abu Asab, one of the Jerusalemites who was forcibly expelled from his house by the occupation, stated that his house consists of two floors and overlooks the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the occupation expelled his family from inside the house, and settled the settlers in it.
"The settlers went to one of the Israeli courts, and they claimed that the house belongs to them. Indeed, a the occupation police surrounded the house, and drove me and my family out of it by force of arms," he added.
Abu Asab clarified that he did not receive the required support from the Palestinian authority during the period of his case in the occupation courts, unlike the settlers who were receiving support from settlement associations in occupied Jerusalem.
Khaled Abu Tayeh, member of the Committee for the Defense of Silwan Land, confirmed that the occupation sent warnings to a number of Palestinians in the recent period to demolish the homes of Jerusalemites, under the pretext of not obtaining the necessary permits.
"The occupation municipality always use a building permit as a pressure card on Jerusalemites, because that needs more than a million shekels to be issued, and the Jerusalemites cannot pay these sums since most of them do not have high income for them," he added.
