Days of Palestine- Ramallah
Israeli occupation forces detained on Tuesday 17 Palestinians from several areas in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, including a woman and a 60-year-old man, according to a statement issued by the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
It said Israeli occupation forces detained 10 people from both al-Issawiya and Silwan neighborhoods in occupied East Jerusalem, including a woman identified as Ibtisam Sharaf from Silwan.
In the West Bank, soldiers detained a 60-year-old man from Jericho identified as Salim Shawwa, two Palestinians from Bethlehem, one of them 18 years of age and the other 41, one from Ramallah-area village of Kobar, and three from Qalandia refugee camp.
Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
