Days Of Palestine – West Bank
Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday detained 12 Palestinians and assaulted others in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed in a press statement that Israeli forces rounded up four Palestinians, including two teens, after ransacking the houses of their families in al-Auja town, north of Jericho city.
In Jerusalem district, Israeli military vehicles stormed Qatanna town, northwest of Jerusalem, where soldiers rearrested a former prisoner.
Soldiers also conducted a similar raid in Beit Duqqu town, northwest of Jerusalem, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.
Another was rounded up from Ramallah and al-Bireh district.
In the southern West Bank, an Israeli raid was carried out in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, resulting in the detention of a teen who has sustained injuries in a car accident.
In Hebron district, Israeli troops carried out a raid in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
Local security sources said that soldiers conducted another raid in Adh-Dhahiriya town, south of Hebron, where they ransacked the house of two prisoners’ family.
In the northern West Bank, PPS said a raid was conducted in the Balata refugee camp of Nablus district, resulting in the detention of two Palestinians.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
