Days Of Palestine – West Bank
The Hamas Movement has mourned Palestinian martyr Fakher Abu Ziyad Qart, a 53-year-old from Beitunia town in Ramallah, who carried out a shooting operation against Israeli soldiers recently in response to what it called “the call of duty.”
“Our people, old and young, will continue to uphold the path of resistance and confront the occupation army and the herds of settlers,” Hamas said in a statement on Monday, hailing Qart for “culminating 53 years of his life with martyrdom for his homeland.”
“The message of our martyr who bled for days says: No more normalization and coordination with the occupation. Today is the time of rifles that know no boundaries other than resisting until the ousting of the occupation,” the Movement added.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) announced on Monday they had found the body of a Palestinian suspected of wounding an Israeli soldier earlier this month.
The man’s body was found on Monday in tangled vegetation in a wadi with an M-16 rifle and a handgun, the IOF claimed in a statement.
Martyr Qart had carried out a shooting operation earlier this month near the illegal Dolev settlement, northwest of Ramallah, and wounded an Israeli soldier before escaping the scene.
Troops returned fire and injured him before launching a manhunt to find him, which ended Monday with the discovery of the body.
The soldier’s head was grazed by a bullet, sustaining a serious injury.
