Days Of Palestine – Hebron

On Saturday night, extremist Jewish settlers attacked with stones and empty bottles several Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local sources.

It said that dozens of settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba, protected by a military escort, attacked with rocks and glass bottles Palestinians’ homes in Jaber neighborhood in the city.

The attacking settlers also chanted profanities and racist slogans against the residents, terrorizing children and families.

Citizens of the neighborhood have previously called on international and rights organizations to urgently intervene to put an end to the Israeli government-supported settlers’ terrorism, and to provide protection for them.

Some 800 hardcore settlers live in the Israeli-controlled section of Hebron, known as H2, among over 20,000 Palestinians.

Harassment of Palestinians in that area is a daily occurrence, particularly following the departure of the international monitoring team, the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), in February last year after Israel refused to extend the team's mandate.
