Dozens of Jewish settlers forced their way into al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday through al-Maghareba Gate amid tight Israeli police guard.

Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department said that 45 Israeli settlers stormed al-Aqsa Mosque and carried out provocative tours inside the site before they left through al-Silsila Gate.

Earlier in the day the Israeli police arrested a Palestinian worshiper at Bab al-Rahma prayer area near al-Aqsa Mosque and transferred her to an Israeli detention center in the Old City of Jerusalem.
