Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has said that the US assassination of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani will never weaken the resistance project in Palestine.

“We have come from blessed Palestine and Jerusalem to offer condolences to leader Khamenei and Islamic Iran on the martyrdom of commander Soleimani,” Haneyya said in a memorial speech before Iranian officials and mourners in Tehran on Monday.

“The criminal assassination of General Soleimani reflects the US oppression, arrogance and criminality,” the Hamas political chief said, describing his murder as “a heinous crime that deserves rejection, condemnation and retribution from the entire world.”

“The resistance project on the land of Palestine in the face of the Zio-American project will continue and will not dwindle or retreat. Such assassinations will only make us stronger for the liberation of Jerusalem,” he underscored.

The Hamas leader also hailed Soleimani for supporting the Palestinian resistance, describing him as “the martyr of Jerusalem.
