Days Of Palestine – Hebron
Palestinian human rights sources reported that the Israeli occupation authority issued administrative detention orders against six Hamas officials, who were arrested about a week ago in the West Bank.
The Hamas officials are Issa al-Jabari, Omar al-Qawasmi, Mazen al-Natsha, Jawad al-Natsha, and Abdul-Khaleq al-Natsha, and all of them have been jailed administratively for four month, except for Mohamed al-Natsha who received a six-month administrative prison order.
Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge, based on allegations that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit, and the evidence on which it is based seemingly does not exist.
Israel, an occupying power, uses such type of detention extensively and routinely as a punitive measure against the Palestinians in the occupied territories and has used it to hold thousands of them for lengthy periods of time.
