Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday overnight conducted multiple raids across the West Bank, detaining 13 Palestinians and ransacking the houses of several former prisoners, said the Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS).

In Ramallah district, PPS said that Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians after storming their houses in Deir Abu Mashaal village, located to the northwest of Ramallah city.

A similar Israeli military raid was conducted in Ni'lin village, west of Ramallah, where soldiers ransacked a former prisoner’s house. No detentions were reported though.

In Bethlehem district, PPS confirmed an Israeli military raid in the Bethlehem city neighborhood of As-Saf, resulting in the detention of two former prisoners.

PPS added that Israeli military vehicles stormed Zaatara town, east of Bethlehem, where soldiers detained another former prisoner.

In Jerusalem district, Israeli police detained a Palestinian from inside Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The detainee was identified as an employee of the Islamic Religious Endowment (Waqf) Department.

PPS added that police raided the Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya, and rounded up a 15-year-old teen.

Meanwhile, PPS said that two former prisoners were detained from Urif village, south of Nablus city, and another from Nablus district.

In Jenin district, two Palestinians were detained after being stopped at a flying military checkpoint near Arraba village, located to the southwest of Jenin city.

The two young men were detained two days ago, but their families were informed about it on Tuesday.

In Hebron district, Israeli occupation troops barged their way to Beit Awwa and Bani Naim towns as well as into al-Arroub refugee camp, where they ransacked several houses, turning them upside down.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians — including numerous women and children — are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities.
