The International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) on Tuesday urged the Muslim nation to support the Aqsa Mosque and the besieged Gaza Strip.
“The exposure of the Aqsa Mosque to dangers constitutes a threat to al-Masjid al-Ḥaram (Great Mosque of Mecca) and its people,” the IUMS said in a statement, warning of the impact of forsaking the Aqsa Mosque on al-Masjid al-Haram.
It called for supporting the Aqsa Mosque financially and through holding social media campaigns and popular events to raise the Muslim nation’s awareness about the dangers threatening the Mosque.
The IUMS also called for backing the Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem and the besieged Gaza Strip and urged Mosque Imams in the Islamic world to deliver khutbas (sermons) in solidarity with Aqsa and Gaza.
