Israeli settler murders Palestinian protester in West Bank

Days of Palestine -

An extremist Israeli Jewish settler opened fire on Thursday at noon at Palestinian protesters in West Bank, murdering one, injuring two others.

Protesters said that they gathered in Huwwara Neighbourhood in the city of Nablus and moved slowly towards the Israeli checkpoint of Huwwara to protest in solidarity with the hunger strikers in Israeli jails.

“An Israeli settler took off his car, while the Israeli occupation soldiers are looking at him, pulled his automatic gun and opened fire towards us,” the protester, who preferred to remain unknown, told Days of Palestine.

The ministry of health also announced that the AP photographer Majdi Ishtea was wounded in his hand, noting that he is in stable condition now.

Following the settler’s attack, the Palestinian protesters started throwing stones at the Israeli checkpoint of Huwwara.

Israeli media reported spokespersons of the Israeli army claiming that the Palestinian protesters threw stones at the Israeli settlers, who returned with his live fire at them.
