The incident took place on Wednesday morning in the north of Ramallah on Route 60, the main artery in the West Bank, near the illegal Israeli Jewish-only settlement of Shiloh in the Palestinian occupied west Bank.

Palestinian sources identified the man, who was shot at a zero distance as Mohamed Karakra, 29, from the nearby village of Sinjil, where Israeli settlers always assault Palestinians.
Overnight on Wednesday, Israeli security forces stormed several areas along the occupied West Bank and arrested nine Palestinian citizens. Palestinian sources reported massive damage caused by the Israeli troops during the night arrest.
The Israeli soldier First Sergeant Tomer Lan, who killed the Palestinian man, was one of the two Israeli stabbed by the Palestinians man. He was lightly injured and treated on the site.
Israeli paramedics airlifted the other Israeli soldier, who sustained moderate injuries, to an Israeli hospital in Jerusalem.
Hours later after the attack, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the village of Sinjil and broke into the house of the Palestinian man. They searched it and damaged its property.
