The incident took place when a number of Israeli occupation soldiers, patrolling near the Israeli Apartheid Wall in the village of Oranit, assaulted a group of six Palestinian youths.
“One of the Palestinians had a knife wanted to stop the savage Israeli assault, using a small knife,” an eyewitness told Days of Palestine.
Israeli media reported that the Palestinian stabbed the soldier while he was in a routine patrol with other soldiers near the Apartheid Wall.
The soldier was evacuated to a hospital with light injuries in the upper part of his body, while the Palestinian was taken to interrogation.
According to the Palestinian eyewitness, the attack was accidental and was a mere attempt to stop the Israeli assault on the Palestinians.
“Look at the knife used in the attack,” the eyewitness said, “it is not a knife to be used in an aggressive attack planned to kill someone or cause serious injuries.”
Another point, the eyewitness said, was that the Palestinian attacker was one among a group of six. “How can he carry out a planned attack while he was accompanied with five others walking with him?” the eyewitness asked.
