Days of Palestine, Cairo –Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas called on Saturday morning for Arab League to have Arab jets attack Gaza Strip.
During his speech before the Arab leaders in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm al-Sheikh, Abbas hailed the Saudi-led military operation dubbed ‘Decisive Storm’ against Houthi militias in Yemen.
Like this operation, Abbas called for the Arab leaders to carry out another operation against the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, which controlled the Gaza Strip in 2007, ending one and half a year of Abbas-incited security chaos.
On Friday, Mahmoud al-Habbash, Abbas’ religious advisor called for the Saudi-led alliance to attack the Gaza Strip, official PA news agency Wafa reported.
During the Friday speech in Ramallah, Al-Habbash said: “The Arab nation has to attack any illegal side in the Arab region with an iron hand.

It has to start from Palestine.”
Al-Habbash added: “The protection of legitimacy in any Arab country is the duty of all the Arab leaders. They have to initiate attacks against outlawed people anyhow and regardless to time and place, starting from Palestine.”
He explained that what happened in Gaza, when Hamas controlled the Strip in 2007, was a coup and must be dealt with decisively. “People who carry out coups, must be attacked with an iron hand,” he said.
For his part, senior Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Zahar wrote on Facebook: “Everyone hoped that Hamas to be beaten by the Israeli occupation is called for an Arabic alliance to attack it now.” He added: “This is the worst kind of tyranny.”
