Days of Palestine, West Bank –Leader of extremist Israeli Jewish Home party Naftali Bennett Desecrated on Thursday night Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil.
Local sources spotted Bennett, who is minister of economy, sneaking at night to the Mosque accompanied with several members of his party.
Bennett, according to the sources, met with the Israeli army commander in Al-Khalil Yariv Ben Ezra.
The move comes just days ahead of the Israeli Knesset elections and weeks after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced his own plans to visit the Palestinian Islamic place.
Zionist Jews claim that Al-Ibrahimi Mosque theirs and call it the Cave of the Patriarchs. They partitioned it between Muslims and extremist Jews several decades ago.
On February 25, 1994, the extremist Jewish Israeli settlers Baruch Goldstein opened his automatic fire at worshipers during Al-Fajr (dawn prayer), killed 29 Muslim and injured dozens more.
From time to time, Israeli authorities prevent Muslims from calling for the prayers in through the speakerphones of the Mosque. They also sometimes close it and prevent Muslims from entering for days during Jewish holidays and celebrations.
