Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli settlers failed on Wednesday to kidnap the Palestinian boy Mohamed Zaghal, 11, in occupied Jerusalem.
Zaghal was walking back home after dropping his younger sister off at her school, his father said. After taking Al-Juthmaniyeh Streets, eight settlers followed him and attempted to kidnap him.
“My son found unlocked car for an Arab family and hid himself inside it before a number of Arab citizens arrived,” the father said.
“The settlers clashed with the Arabs, who wanted to prevent them from kidnapping my son,” the father said. “They could not evacuate my son before the arrival of the police, which arrested him claiming he was throwing stones at them.”
The father said that his son did not throw stones at the police, who was not in the area, and reiterated he dropped his younger sister off to her school before the eight Israeli settlers followed him.
On July 2, three Israeli settlers kidnapped and murdered the Palestinian teenager Mohammed abu-Khdeir, 16, in occupied Jerusalem.
Abu-Khdeir was found burned to death. Forensic analysis of his remains suggested he was still alive when he was set alight.
Israeli settlers, who murdered him, recognised carrying out the crime against the Palestinian boy and then set free by the Israeli authorities.
