Israeli occupation army said in a statement that it killed Marwan al-Qawasmeh and Amer abu-Aisha during an arrest campaign that put an end to a several-month operation of manhunt.
Both the Palestinians killed tonight were accused by the Israeli occupation of kidnapping three Israeli settlers went missing on June 12 and later on found dead near the illegal Israeli settlement of Etzion in Al-Khalil.
In wake of the disappearance of the three settlers, the Israeli occupation set off a search operation in the West Bank as well as a crackdown on the Hamas members and Hamas-run organisations.
According to the statement of the Israeli army, the Israeli forces found and killed the two Palestinians after receiving information about the whereabouts of the two Palestinians from Hussam abu-Aisha, who was arrested on July 11.
The operation was carried out by the Shin Bet along with soldiers from the occupation army and troops from the Yamam police anti-terror unit.
At around 3 am, the forces descended on the house, where the suspects were believed to be hiding and began firing heavily on the home. Both were killed after refusing to surrender.
Israeli Channel 10 said that an armed bulldozer was also used to destroy the home the two were in during the operation.
Hamas confirmed in a statement the two were killed, Israeli media reported.
Alleged Hamas involvement
About the involvement of these Palestinian citizens in the alleged kidnapping of the settlers, the Israeli occupation has never given a single proof. All what was known about it not more Israeli claims.
They were Hamas members and have been arrested by the Israeli occupation several times. Their houses were destroyed in wake of their disappearance after the Israeli occupation claimed they were behind the alleged kidnapping.
A former Israeli politician spoke on condition of anonymity said that the three settlers were killed in a car accident and the Israeli government agreed with their families to announce their kidnapping and then their death by Hamas in order to justify a crackdown on Hamas in the West Bank.
The politician wondered why Israeli occupation did not broadcast footages for the settlers’ bodies or carry out forensic check after it claimed it found them in a shallow grave in Al-Khalil.
Meanwhile, Hamas has not announced it kidnapped any of the Israeli occupation settlers despite it does not object such operations.
Hamas said that the proof that the Israeli accusation that Hamas behind the alleged kidnapping is the massive Israeli targeting of Hamas run-charities and factories, as well as the arrests and kidnappings of its leaders and members.
