Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –An Israeli magistrate court in Jerusalem has ordered a Palestinian family to evacuate its house adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Bakri family has been living in this house, which they rented, for 25 years. The family was ordered to evacuate the house before September 4, 2014.
Sadiyya al-Bakri said on Tuesday that her family, which consists of 18 members, has been expecting the Israeli authorities to forcibly evacuate them since the due date of the order –two weeks ago.
“However, we refuse to leave the house we have been living in for quarter of a century,” Al-Bakri said.
She added that her family used to pay rent to the Niaaji family. Then, the Israeli agency for absentees’ properties asked the family to pay the rent for it. The agency, she said, claimed that Al-Bakri family is not a “protected tenant.”
