Hamas Movement hailed on Friday the victory achieved by the Palestinian prisoners after they suspended their hunger strike as they reached an agreement with the Israeli Prison Service.
A spokesman for the Movement, Hazem Qassem, expressed deep pride in the achievements reached by the Captive Movement especially Hamas Movement prisoners who were a great help to Palestinian Islamic Jihad striking prisoners.
“We hail all our brave prisoners affiliated to all Palestinian factions, especially Hamas Movement prisoners who provided support to their Palestinian Islamic Jihad striking brothers”, he said.
He also hailed the strong determination of the six prisoners who are still on hunger strike topped by Kayed al-Fosfos and Miqdad al-Qawasmi.
Earlier Thursday, a statement issued by the leadership of the Islamic Jihad prisoners held in Israeli prisons confirmed that the hunger strike, which began nine days ago, has ended.
“The prisoners decided to suspend the hunger strike after they scored a victory against the administration of the occupation prison authorities,” the statement reads.
Some 250 inmates went on hunger strike nine days ago in protest against restrictions imposed on them following the escape of six prisoners from Gilboa Prison last month.
