DaysofPal- In a powerful display of solidarity, thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across the Arab world and North Africa today, expressing unwavering support for the people of Gaza amidst ongoing Israeli airstrikes. People from Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, Jordan, and Yemen participated in the demonstrations.
These protests follow a call by the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, which had declared this Friday a “Global Day of Anger” to express solidarity with the people of Gaza and to condemn the ongoing Israeli occupation and its massacres, which have been supported by the United States.
Hamas urged “the masses of our people, our nation, and the free people of the world to escalate activities, marches, and sit-ins; besiege Zionist embassies; support Gaza; expose the crimes of the occupation; and continue international pressure until the aggression stops and the siege is lifted.”
The movement called for days of anger against the occupation, demanding an immediate halt to Israeli aggression and the lifting of the siege on Gaza.
As Israeli occupation forces continue their offensive for the 18th consecutive day, particularly targeting the cities of Khan Younis and Gaza, the demonstrations were a powerful show of solidarity with the victims of the ongoing massacres and crimes against civilians and displaced persons in Gaza.
In Yemen, a large gathering was held in Taiz’s Freedom Square after the Friday prayers. The protestors chanted slogans in solidarity with the people of Gaza and condemned the Israeli bombings, emphasizing the ongoing breach of the ceasefire agreement by Israeli forces.
In Amman, Jordanians marched, demanding an end to normalization with Israel and stronger support for Palestinians. They condemned Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank and emphasized the right of Palestinians to resist occupation.
In Baghdad, Iraq, a unified central Friday prayer took place under the title “Rafah is being wiped out” in the al-Khadhraa neighborhood. Following the prayer, a protest was held condemning the Israeli occupation and calling for action to stop the violence in Gaza.
In Rabat, Morocco, a solidarity protest with Gaza also took place today. Demonstrators gathered to express their support for Palestinians and demand an immediate cessation of Israeli military actions in Gaza.
In Algiers, Algeria, the Movement of Society for Peace organized a solidarity stand in front of its central headquarters to denounce the recent Israeli aggression against Gaza. Participants called for an end to the violence and voiced support for the Palestinian cause.
More than 50,500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since the start of the war in October 2023 and at least 114,000 have been wounded.
