DaysofPal – The Israeli forces have bombed ten buildings belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza City over the past four days, the agency’s Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated on Monday.
In a post on X, Lazzarini said that among the destroyed structures were seven schools and two clinics, which were currently serving as shelters for thousands of displaced Palestinians.
He warned that “there is no place and no one safe in Gaza City and the north, where airstrikes are intensifying, forcing more Palestinians to flee into the unknown.”
Lazzarini also reported severe disruptions to essential services.
“We have been forced to suspend health care at Al-Shati Camp, the only facility available north of Wadi Gaza, while our water and sanitation services are now operating at only half capacity,” he said.
Gaza City has been under sustained Israeli attacks in recent days, with residential towers and apartment buildings struck by heavy missiles.
The Israeli bombardment has destroyed homes and displaced tens of thousands of residents, leaving many without shelter amid ongoing hostilities.
The UN official’s remarks come as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, with displaced populations increasingly relying on UNRWA facilities for shelter and basic services amid escalating military operations.
