The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Israeli Minister’s incursions into the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
The ministry warned against the dangerous repercussions of allowing extremists to enter Al-Aqsa and engage in provocative actions.
The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Al-Majali, stated in remarks published by the Jordanian news agency “Petra” that the act of Israeli ministers entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, violating its sanctity, and the practices of extremists constitute blatant violations of international law.
He emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem.
Furthermore, Al-Majali emphasized that the ongoing unilateral Israeli actions and continuous violations of the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its sacred sites pose a threat of igniting new waves of violence in the region.
Al-Majali emphasized the rights of Palestine to sovereignty over the occupied eastern part of Jerusalem, asserting that Israel, as the occupying power, has no right or sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
According to reports from the Israeli news site “Walla,” approximately 1600 Israeli settlers “stormed” the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early hours of Thursday.
It is further stated that the “storming” is set to resume at 13:30 for a duration of only one hour.
